Whilst looking for a parking paying machine I saw this collection of containers. There are 7, I think. They are for depositing all kinds of waste and recycables, paper, glass, clothing, frying oil and gross waste. On the western end is a clothing container. The containers are operated by Avalex Rijswijk.
On their site ( (
visit link) ) I found the following about the recycling of clothing:
"Textiles are given a second life. Good quality second-hand clothes go to the thrift store, or are sent to a poor country. Clothing of slightly lesser quality is taken care of by workshops and can then still go to a new owner.
The non-wearable textiles are also given a new lease of life. Think of broken clothes, sheets, towels and curtains. It is taken apart (fiberized) and decomposed into different fiber types. New clothing is made from this material or, for example, insulation material, moving blankets and car seats."
