A working payphone that accepts incoming calls is at the Okahumpka Travel Plaza on the Florida Turnpike at Mile 299 in Wildwood, Florida. It is mounted to the interior north wall by Dunkin' Donuts and across from the Main Street Market convenience store. A trash receptacle partially blocks its view from the concourse.
The touch-tone, single-slot payphone is of typical modern design - a metal body powder coated in black with chrome face plate and coin return slot (lower right) components, a black ABS plastic handset with a flexible stainless steel cord (32 inches), and 12-push button keypad. Additional buttons control the volume, service in Spanish, and "Next Call" switching. Local calls: 50 cents.
Note: This highway rests stop is located on the center median and accessible from both directions of travel along the turnpike near its northern terminus. Though the plaza is open 24 hours a day, not all food services are available around the clock.
