While the village of Lansdowne looks up to the east to the Lansdowne Escarpment of the Coorabakh National Park, the community of Upper Lansdowne is even smaller, with views of the northern part of the Lansdowne Escarpment, but it has its own volcanic remnants in the village, and just to the west, in the form of Mount Coxcomb; which Paynes Lane leads west to. All dirt road, until it gets to cross the Lansdowne River upper reach, and then there is a concrete runway under the clear flowing water.

[Immediately upstream is a decent sized log, with a tensioned cable, for pedestrian access when the River floods up by about a metre.]
I had come out to Mt Coxcomb in September as there was at that time a Geodash point to be found, of which I was successful: GDFB - YQYD.
