English: Three monks are located on Klosterpladsen in Svendborg. Here was the gråbrødre (Gray Brothers) monastery - and the sculptures mark both a fun and historical element in the street scene. The monastery was located right where the railway station and the railway crossing are today.
Artist Jens Galschiøt has created the three bronze monks in lifelike size, which will now adorn one of the hubs in Svendborg. "I am very enthusiastic about Svendborg, which in many ways is a dense city. Svendborg has a special history, and I am very happy that my art can now help to evoke Svendborg's history and cultural heritage", says Jens Galschiøt in interview with Svendborg Museum.
