Tämä kaasukello on alun perin kaupunkikaasun varastointiin ja kulutuksen huippujen tasaukseen rakennettu laitos. Vieressä olleet tuotantorakennukset on jo purettu.
Turun kaasukellon kaasutilavuus oli 10 000 kuutiometriä. Suojarakennuksen halkaisija on 35 metriä ja korkeus noin 29 metriä. Rakennuksen ulkoseinällä oli myös toimiva mittari joka näytti kaasun määrän säiliössä.
Vuonna 1936 päätettiin rakentaa korkeapainesäiliö, jonne mahtui 3500 kuutiometriä kaasua. Se on tuo pallonmuotoinen toinen säiliö isomman vieressä.

This gas bell is originally made for storage household gas and to level peaks of use. There were also other buildings but they have been demolished.
Turku gas bell had a volume of 10 000 cubic meters. Its diameter is 35 meters and height is around 29 meters. At the wall there was a working meter which showed how much gas there is in the container.
Year 1936 they decided to build a high-pressure container which took 3500 cubic meters gas. It's that ball-shaped other container near the bigger one.
