"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." "Son of Ryan and Denise McCombie, Brandan graduated with honors from The Pennsylvania State University in 1998 with a major in finance and a minor in military history. While at Penn State, he participated in Intrafraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon and played intramural and club soccer. He was also a member of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps.
Brandan was described as a selfless person who cared for his family and friends tremendously and as a person who had friends across the world. His friends also describe a man of tremendous drive who was determined to meet every goal that he set for himself.
Besides his parents, Brandan is survived by a sister, Shannon, and a brother, Ryan.
Brandan's lifelong dream was to become a pilot. Lt. j. g. McCombie was one of three crew members aboard a Navy jet that crashed during a training mission off the coast of the Puerto Rican island of Vieques. His plane was a S-3B Viking that refuels fighter jets mid-air.Source
