The Royal Dutch Tourist Association ANWB is a Dutch organization for traffic and tourism, founded in 1883. One of their activities is placing these brown signs at POI's.
This one on the former prison in Aalten reads as follows:
The prison
This building - popularly called the prison - was built in 1861 as a Cantonal House of Detention pursuant to a Royal Decree of 1841. There were 6 cells. In 1886 it was closed as such. Restored in 1987 and made suitable for habitation.
