Rhenen is a city and municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. The municipality has 20,264 inhabitants (January 31, 2022) and has an area of 42.99 km² (of which 1.28 km² is water). In addition to the city of Rhenen, the municipality includes the villages of Elst and Achterberg.

The Cunerakerk is the main church of Rhenen. It is a relatively large church, created thanks to the fact that Rhenen was an important place of pilgrimage in the Middle Ages. Pilgrims came to see the relics of Saint Cunera, which were venerated here from the eighth century. The pride of the church is the 81.8 meter high tower.
