" La générosité de Félix Sautereau, grand propriétaire de la commune, permet de lancer les travaux de construction de l'église Saint-Blaise. La première pierre est posée le 30 mars 1869 et Monseigneur Pie, évêque de Poitiers, consacre l'édifice le 25 mars 1874.

De style né-roman, l'église se compose d'une nef unique, d'un choeur en hémicycle et d'un clocher en saillie sur le côté sud du choeur.

Elle s'inscrit dans le grand mouvement de reconstruction des édifices religieux de cette époque, s'inspirant des modèles médiévaux tout en les réinterprétant."

"The generosity of Félix Sautereau, large landowner of the town, allows to launch the construction work of the Saint-Blaise church. The first stone was laid on March 30, 1869 and Monsignor Pie, Bishop of Poitiers, consecrated the building on March 25, 1874.

In neo-Romanesque style, the church consists of a single nave, a semicircular chancel and a projecting bell tower on the south side of the chancel.

It is part of the great movement of reconstruction of religious buildings of this period, drawing inspiration from medieval models while reinterpreting them."
