The last vestige of the Long Prairie Community, this cemetery is located down SE Navarro County Road 3230 off of the FM 309 and SH 31 in Navarro County Texas.
The cemetery is known by various names: Long Prairie, after the nearby community that now a ghost town; Round Prairie for a nearby landform; and Alligator Cemetery - for reasons that we don't know. Maybe there were alligators in the nearby creek? We do know that there are no alligators buried here, so it's not named after a Texas quirky thing that happened, and no one named Alligator buried here, so not named for a resident.
The cemetery is well maintained by an association, and there are about 1000 people buried here, from what Blasterz could see.
