"It was created in 2010, it is located on the second floor of the Vigo Juan Compañel Public Library. It depends on the Department of Equality of the Vigo City Council.
History
It was inaugurated on March 25, 2010 and was created from the 8,500 titles, 150 magazines and 930 audiovisual pieces compiled over 25 years by the Study Group on the Condition of Women-Alecrín. Added to this material dating from the 1980s is the documentary collection of the Department of Equality of the Vigo City Council.
Activities Edit
The documentation center, located in the Vigo Juan Compañel Public Library, is a management service for information, documentation and work materials on women, gender and equality aimed at the general public or specialized personnel.
In addition to direct or telematic attention services, a reading room, loan and documentary advice, the center carries out cultural extension activities, exhibitions, animation, reading, talks, debates and workshops.
The library is part of the Network of Documentation Centers and Women's Libraries in Spain."
