The place before the square was a cemetery, as the medieval tombstones remind us on one side, supported by the church of Santa María Nai. It is centered on a baroque cruise ship, one of the most beautiful in the city, which came to rest in this place from its original site, near the Roman Bridge. The inscription can be read at the base of the beautiful cruise ship: Bernardo Patricio de Arce y Obregón. 1718 ». Made of granite, it has on the cross the figures of Christ and the Sorrowful Virgin. Four medallions surround the Virgin with symbols of the evangelists. It rests on three square steps."
