Made Possible by the Children and Adult Mobility Project
Next to the monument is a larger-than life size, metal, bicycle sculpture fabricated by Vicente Garcia. The sculpture commemorates the designation of Simsbury as Connecticut's first bicycle friendly community and doubles as a bicycle tender that can accommodate 20 bicycles.
In 2012 Simsbury received a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community designation from the League of American Bicyclists.
