Anneke Swanink vestigde zich onlangs (2020) met haar galerie Montein in de Lopikerstraat in Schoonhoven. De kunstenares uit IJsselstein staat bekend om haar unieke, kleurrijke schilderijen, die gebaseerd zijn op de natuur. Anneke Swanink heeft door de jaren heen haar eigen stijl gevonden en ontwikkeld. In Utrecht werkte de autodidact eerst jarenlang als peuterleidster. Ze beschilderde de ramen van het schoolgebouwtje met prachtige afbeeldingen, die pasten in de belevingswereld van de peuters.

In de ruime galerie, waar Anneke Swanink in de avonduren rustig kan werken, wachten de schilderijen, die nog te koop zijn, op een nieuwe eigenaar. De jaargetijden staan vaak centraal. Anneke Swanink vindt dat haar schilderijen betaalbaar moeten blijven. De galerie is open op donderdag-, vrijdag- en zaterdagmiddag. Voor een ander tijdstip kunnen geïnteresseerden een telefonische afspraak maken. Naast het werk van de galeriehoudster hangt en staat er ook kunst van collega’s.

Anneke Swanink werkt ook met andere materialen, maar schilderen is haar ding. “De afgelopen tijd ben ik een andere weg ingeslagen met het maken van wandsculpturen. Als mijn hoofd leeg is, vind ik het heerlijk om creatief bezig te zijn. Ik hoop dat nog lang te doen.”

Anneke Swanink recently (2020) established her gallery Montein in the Lopikerstraat in Schoonhoven. The artist from IJsselstein is known for her unique, colorful paintings, which are based on nature. Anneke Swanink has found and developed her own style over the years. In Utrecht, the autodidact first worked for years as a preschool teacher. She painted the windows of the school building with beautiful images that matched the toddlers' perception of the world.

In the spacious gallery, where Anneke Swanink can work quietly in the evenings, the paintings, which are still for sale, are waiting for a new owner. The seasons are often central. Anneke Swanink believes that her paintings should remain affordable. The gallery is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. Interested parties can make an appointment by telephone for another time. In addition to the work of the gallery owner, there is also art by colleagues.

Anneke Swanink also works with other materials, but painting is her thing. “Recently I have taken a different path with making wall sculptures. When my head is empty, I love to be creative. I hope to do that for a long time to come.”
