The birthplace of President William McKinley is located on South Main Street in Niles, Ohio. McKinley, the 25th president, was born at this location on January 29, 1843. According to an historical marker at the site, "The original house was moved from this site and ultimately destroyed by fire." The current building is a replica of the original house. It is open for tours and has a collection of items related to McKinley, as well as a research library.
