This is being created by Binghamton University master’s student Cam Winzinger and alumna Anna Shaheen. It was started last fall. Associate Professor of Biological Sciences Julian Shepherd, served as a mentor throughout the project; the student and alum are dedicating the trail to Shepherd for his help and encouragement.

(visit link) "The Sandy Beach Park Nature Trail will repurpose an underutilized softball field and crumbling basketball court. The trail will feature three pollinator gardens, bird and bat boxes, bee hives, new tree plantings and informational signage on conservation, pollination, endangered and invasive species, and trees and birds seen in the park."
