This fountain is located in Columbus Park in Stamford, CT. The park is a small triangular piece of land between Main Street and West Park Place. In addition to the fountain there is a monument commemorating the 500th anniversary of Columbus's voyage.
The fountain is made of pink limestone and has a statue of Columbus in the center standing on top of a globe.
The inscription says:

"Discoverer of America"
