The Washington Quarter was created by the Bedford County Technical Center students. The coin is 20-ft. diameter and weighs nearly one ton.

People have asked why not a Lincoln Cent? Afterall this is the Lincoln Highway. My guess would have something to do with, this part of the Lincoln Highway was also part of the Forbes Road, which George Washington had traveled in 1794 to put an end to the Whiskey Rebellion.

Happy Birthday Mr. President.
