This gazebo is located at a historical site in Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, North Carolina. The structure is constructed with brick in a lattice-work design mounted on a cement base with eight metal poles supporting the wooden roof. The gazebo houses a time capsule buried in the cement base and a plaque that reads:

historical interests.
1. Marks the location of the first schoolhouse in
the area, originally named Pope's and later
Greenwood (1860)
2. Was the first meeting place for religious
services - mostly interdenominational - and
where the first area church was organized -
originally named Greenwood Baptist Church -
now First Baptist Church (1885)
3. Designated in the deed to Dunn, N.C. as the
exact center of the original one acre
