L’église Saint-Christophe de Racour est un édifice mêlant architecture romane et gothique. Elle est construite en quartzite d’Overlaar, pierre de Gobertange et tuffeau de Lincent, et est composé d’une tour, d’une nef, de deux collatéraux, d’un transept et d’un chœur à abside à trois pans. La tour robuste, datée de la seconde moitié du XIVe siècle, a une hauteur de 33 m et est annexée d’une tourelle d’escalier. Le vaisseau et le chœur datent quant à eux du XVe siècle. Ce dernier est flanqué de deux annexes néogothiques. Dans la première moitié du XXe siècle, une campagne de restauration dégage partiellement le décor intérieur en stuc daté du milieu du XVIIIe siècle.
L’intérieur de la tour est caractérisé par l’utilisation de deux types de couvrement. Le premier niveau est couvert par une voûte d’arêtes tandis que le second est surmonté d’une voûte sur nervures. La nef, la croisée et le transept comportent au premier niveau de grandes arcades en arc brisé. Les bras du transept sont couverts par des voûtes sur croisées d’ogives. Le chœur et l’abside sont recouverts d’enduits et ornés de stucs figurant des rocailles. Le mobilier est caractérisé par des statues de saint Christophe (XIIIe et XVIIIe siècles) ainsi que par des fonts baptismaux gothiques décorés de têtes humaines et datés du XVe siècle.
De kerk Saint-Christophe de Racour is een mengeling van romaanse en gotische architectuur. Het is gebouwd van kwartsiet uit Overlaar, steen uit Gobertange en tufsteen uit Lincent, en bestaat uit een toren, een schip, twee zijbeuken, een transept en een koor met een driezijdige apsis. De robuuste toren, die dateert uit de tweede helft van de 14e eeuw, is 33 m hoog en heeft een traptorentje als aanbouw. Het schip en het koor dateren uit de 15e eeuw. Het laatste wordt geflankeerd door twee neogotische bijgebouwen. In de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw werd bij een restauratiecampagne de stucversiering van het interieur uit het midden van de 18e eeuw gedeeltelijk blootgelegd.
Het interieur van de toren wordt gekenmerkt door het gebruik van twee soorten dakbedekking. Het eerste niveau wordt overdekt door een geribd gewelf, terwijl het tweede niveau wordt overdekt door een geribd gewelf. Het schip, de kruising en het transept hebben grote spitsbogen op het eerste niveau. De armen van het transept zijn overdekt met geribde gewelven. Het koor en de apsis zijn bekleed met pleisterwerk en versierd met stucwerk in de vorm van rocaille. De inrichting wordt gekenmerkt door standbeelden van Sint-Christoffel (13e en 18e eeuw) en door een gotische doopvont versierd met mensenhoofden en daterend uit de 15e eeuw.
The church Saint-Christophe de Racour is a building mixing Romanesque and Gothic architecture. It is built in quartzite of Overlaar, stone of Gobertange and tuffeau of Lincent, and is composed of a tower, a nave, two side aisles, a transept and a choir with a three-sided apse. The robust tower, dated from the second half of the 14th century, has a height of 33 m and is attached to a stair turret. The nave and the choir date from the 15th century. The latter is flanked by two neo-Gothic annexes. In the first half of the 20th century, a restoration campaign partially uncovered the interior stucco decoration dating from the mid-18th century.
The interior of the tower is characterized by the use of two types of roofing. The first level is covered by a groin vault while the second is covered by a ribbed vault. The nave, the crossing and the transept have large pointed arch arches on the first level. The arms of the transept are covered by ribbed vaults. The choir and the apse are covered with plaster and decorated with stucco representing rocaille. The furniture is characterized by statues of Saint Christopher (13th and 18th centuries) as well as by Gothic baptismal fonts decorated with human heads and dated from the 15th century
