The slinky was accidentally invented by Richard James in 1943. It is manufactured by James Industries in Hollidaysburg, PA

A slinky can be metal or plastic. There was a slinky dog in the Toy Story movies. The toy is a spring that can "walk down stairs" and demonstrate physics properties.

The Slinky Action Zone has arcade games, soft play, laser tag, bowling, and food. Part of the fun is wallking through the ginormous Slinky to enter the building.
