About the waterfall

The waterfall is about 3 meter high and 5 meter in width. It brings water from the Dijksloot to the old harbour. When the city center of Zaandam was renovated (period 2003-2010), this waterfall was also created.

About the Inntel Hotel
"The Inntel hotel is a striking building because the outside consists entirely of an accumulation of almost seventy separate Zaan houses, executed in four colors of Zaans green.

The striking building replaces an earlier hotel in Zaandam by the same operator, opened in 1986 and demolished in 2010. The opening of the new hotel was on March 18, 2010. ] The hotel was built as part of the Inverdan project, which started in 2003. The aim of the project was to restructure the Zaan city center. Just like at Inntel Hotels, the traditional Zaan architecture is also reflected in other Inverdan buildings as a 'gimmick'.

Trivia
The hotel topped the CNN news channel's list of Top 12 Apart Hotels in the World.
Except for one house, all the houses on the facade are green. The one blue house represents Monet's house. In 1871 he painted the painting La Maison Bleue, which shows a blue Zaan house."
