Mt. Pleasant Cemetery - Payne County, OK - Abandoned Cemeteries on Waymarking.com

Photos from not all that long ago show Mt. Pleasant Cemetery as maintained. Now it has fallen into neglect; the graves are choked with tall grass and shrubs, and the sign is missing from what remains of the entrance. Two fine sandstone pillars still stand there. Burials began here in the mid 1890s and the cemetery was in regular use until the 1930s. The few grave sites with later dates are all in families with plots already established here.

This cemetery is at the end of a few miles of rugged country road that may well be impassable after a rain.
