The Gila County Historical Museum is located in the historic Mine Rescue Station, which was constructed in 1919 and opened in 1920. Today the Mine Rescue Station houses a collection of historic artifacts, photographs and documents. The museum also features an extensive research library. There is no charge to visit. The museum receives funding from the City of Globe bed tax, which is used to further the museum operations.
