This is the state champion Cherrybark Oak (Quercus pagoda). It is located along the Heron Pond Trail in the Cache River State Natural Area in Johnson County.

This is an easy 30 minute walk from the parking lot. Make sure to stop at the Heron Pond boardwalk along your hike. You will walk over and along the Cache River for part of your journey. I saw huge softshell turtles on the opposite bank. We went there in early May and the area had many different types of wildflowers.
