NL Voor het politiebureau in Woerden is een standbeeld van een ME-er met een schild die net omgevallen is. Op de sokkel is een plaquette met de kunstenaar Taeke Friso De Jong. Het beeld is gemaakt in 1999 te Kamerik in opdracht van het politiebureau Woerden. Een alternatieve titel voor het beeld is “mijn schild ende betrouwe”. Dit is een tekst uit het volkslied van Nederland, het Wilhelmus.
ENG In front of the police station in Woerden is a statue of an riot police officer with a shield that has just fallen over. On the pedestal is a plaque with the artist Taeke Friso De Jong. The statue was made in 1999 in Kamerik on behalf of the Woerden police station. An alternative title for the statue is “my shield and the faithful one”. This is a text from the national anthem of the Netherlands, the Wilhelmus.
