The stone is heavily damaged. I was told by a local cache who lives nearby that the stone was damaged from someone with a sledgehammer. Even then, the marker is an original Mason and Dixon stone from 1766. However, the original that was on this site from the 1760s was removed when Route 40 was built here. This one that is here was originally set at as milestone 10. It was in a museum before both Maryland and Delaware decided to repurpose it. So while it is an original Mason and Dixon stone, it is not in its original spot. Photos taken on 22 January 2022.
