"Because the sale of second-hand goods continued to grow, a foundation was established under the name AMKS, which stands for Active for Music, Church and Society. They rented half of a building and started a thrift store. However, growth did not stop there, the entire building was rented and on February 1, 2019 and completely new premises opened! Now thrift store "De Wolden" is comparable to a department store.

Charities
Not only the music association is supported, but also the five deaconies of the churches in Berghuizen, Koekange and Ruinerwold. The De Wolden diaconal association supports anyone who needs help. The foundation board receives an annual list of the charities they have supported. So we know where the money from the recycling has gone. The money is generated by the recycling store from the sale of surplus goods that are donated to us. This also includes entire household effects from houses that have been emptied upon request. We contributed to a car for the food bank and organizations that take in refugees in 2022. Although the "charity money" is distributed by the deaconies, the AMKS also has the freedom to act directly to support materially or financially in the event of a disaster."
