La Chapelle Saint Erasme est la seule église du quartier de la marine. Elle se situe en amont de la montée du Rastello. On suppose qu’elle existait déjà au XVIIIe siècle mais il reste peu de traces.
Elle a été agrandie entre le XVIIe et le XXe siècle, et à l’état actuel on peut encore apprécier les petites coupoles d’aspect néo-byzantins ajoutées en 1936.
Elle abrite la statue de la confrérie Saint Erasme (confrérie des pêcheurs et des gens de mer) et quelques ex-votos de marins sont visibles en forme de bateaux suspendus non loin de là.

Donc on a créé au sein de la confrérie une équipe qui devait s'occuper de la fête donc on a séparé le religieux du festif. Et au final, on s'est tous réunis et on a dit que l'on ferait Pescadori in festa", explique René Caccavelli, organisateur de Pescadori in festa.
L'un des objectifs de la manifestation : mettre en avant le métier de pêcheur. La prud'homie d'Ajaccio compte une vingtaine de professionnels qui pêchent selon des méthodes artisanales. Mais ils sont désormais confrontés à de nombreuses difficultés.
"Nous avons des problèmes de ressources sur une espèce bien précise : la langouste. Et un problème qui va venir, c'est sur le denti, qui est surpêché par la pêche de loisir", selon Gérard Romiti, président du Comité régional des pêches.
Ce comité prévoit d'élaborer prochainement une feuille de route pour éviter ces dérives. Quant à la fête, elle se poursuit jusqu'à dimanche soir.

"We have problems of resources on a specific species: the lobster. And a problem that will come, is on the denti, which is overfished by recreational fishing," according to Gerard Romiti, President of the Regional Fisheries Committee.
