The parish church of St John the Baptist was certainly in existence before 1226. It was substantially rebuilt in 1875 retaining some features of the 13th century interior - the Transitional north arcade and font, late 12th - early 13th century. The plain octagonal font is built of Beerstone and has a circular stem with a lower cable mould, and sits on a 19th century moulded base.
