In relation to Civil Protection, highlight the work that its volunteers do at parties and in any event for which they are requested. Torrejón de Ardoz has one of the most outstanding groupings of the municipalities of the Community that also lend their help outside the city when they are required to do so. Also noteworthy are its facilities located in the Security Center of the Fairgrounds, one of the most modern of the Civil Protection Groups of the Community of Madrid.
According to the official definition of the International Civil Protection Organization:
'Civil Protection is the system by which each country provides protection and assistance for all in the face of any type of catastrophe or accident, as well as safeguarding the assets of the conglomerate and the environment'
In general terms, we can specify that Civil Protection is the management of the Emergency services of a country, extended to all levels and involving all parties. However, Civil Protection is understood in the strict sense to the specific bodies in charge of protecting the citizens of a country against catastrophes of any kind.
Civil Protection agencies also tend to define a form of citizen participation by which they have a group of people prepared to act in the face of catastrophes in support of salaried Emergency services and who serve as managers in the organization of citizen aid. .
In Spain, these groups are structured as Municipal Groups or Associations of Civil Protection Volunteers managed by the respective City Councils, in the case of the former, or self-managed as NGOs, the latter.
