"Bunschoten, Spakenburg, Eemdijk and Zevenhuizen together form the municipality of Bunschoten. A vibrant community with 20,000 inhabitants.

Originally, a large part of the municipality was focused on cattle breeding, while Spakenburg lived from fishing. Nowadays there is a lot of (fish) industry and itinerant trade.
