Next to the Vianen City gate (Lekpoort), you will these 2 Stolpersteine. Interesting to see is that the city of Vianen put a sign next to them, to explain the lives of Mr Salomon and Mrs Zwanenburg and also what a Stolperstein is.

In april 1943 werd het Mozes Salomon en Albertina Zwanburg onhoudbaar om onder de nazi's te leven en besloten te vluchten. Opgepakt in Belgie worden zij op 24 april gedetineerd in het verzamelkamp te Mechelen. Eind juli wordt echtpaar Salomon-Zwanenburg per trein op transport gezet naar Auschwitz en op 3 augustus vergast.
Een mens is pas vergeten als zijn naam vergeten is.
De Duitse beeldhouwer Gunter Demnig ontwierp in 1993 stenen van 10x10 sm met een toplaagje messing met daarin gegraveerd de namen van nazislachtoffers. Deze Stolpersteine zijn in de bestrating voor de voormlige woning van de slachtoffers opgenomen. Wanderlaars moeten bukken om de tekst op de stenen te lezen, zij buigen als het ware uit eerbied voor deze slachtoffers.

In April 1943, Mozes Salomon and Albertina Zwanburg found it untenable to live under the Nazis and decided to flee. Arrested in Belgium they are detained on 24 April in the assembly camp in Mechelen. At the end of July, the Salomon-Zwanenburg couple was deported by train to Auschwitz and gassed on 3 August.
A person is only forgotten when his name is forgotten.
In 1993, the German sculptor Gunter Demnig designed 10x10 sm bricks with a brass top layer, engraved with the names of Nazi victims. These Stolpersteine ??have been incorporated into the pavement in front of the victims' former home. Hikers have to bend down to read the text on the stones, they bow as it were out of respect for these victims.
