The wooden bridge is made from wood it floats on the Galgenwiel.

About the Galgenwiel water:
"The wheels of this Loenermeer were created in 1658 by the breakthroughs of the Meerdijk. The name comes from a gallows, which Dirk van Haastrecht erected in the north of Plantloon, to indicate that it concerned his jurisdiction, over which Mr. van Waalwijk had nothing to say."
