When you drive to Jokkmokk at Jokkmokkvägen, you pass the Arctic Circle. Here is partly a large info sign and partly a shelter which is located on both sides of the Arctic line.
In the shelter, there are lots of signatures from travelers from all over the world who have taken a break here.
The Arctic Circle is one of the who polar circles and is located at 66°33' North. "It is where the sun doesn't set mid summer and doesn't rise mid winter ". However, the Arctic Circle is constantly in motion. It is an astronomical phenomenon related to the inclination of the Earth's axis relative to the Sun.
