It's a two story brick structure located in the center of town. The newer part (northwest site) was built in the early 1900s, while the older part (south side) was built in 1860.

The plaque says, "In Honor of

Distinguished Citizen - Eminent Jurist
Christian Gentleman
Chief Judge of Second Judicial Circuit
Member Court of Appeals of Maryland 1897 - 1912
Erected August 1, 1942 by the Eastern Shore Society of Baltimore City of which he was an honorary member."
The plaque says, "On this site stood the courthouse built in 1707 which was burned and repaired in 1720. A new building was erected in 1860 and remodeled in 1937."
