Fred Lewis Pattee was considered the first professor of American literature. He wrote the Penn State alma mater. The library that bears his name was built from 1937 - 1940 and has been expanded several times since then, adding the Stacks, West Pattee, East Pattee, and the Paterno library.
All are welcome to enter the library and use the resources. Pennsylvania residents can obtain a library card.
