Photos taken on 5 January 2022. The steps are made out of concrete and lead up to two concrete posts where a horse would have been tied to. The steps are about 4 feet wide and no more than a foot tall in total. The posts are about 4-5 feet tall. This is likely dated back to the 1800s or earlier when this part of Elkton was first developed, during the Revolutionary War.
The plaque says, "Take a step back in time and image yourself arriving by horse and carriage after an 8 to 12 hour ride from Baltimore
or Philadelphia. You would step off the carriage and walk
up these steps to perhaps attend a grand gala or simply
enjoy the beauty of Elk Landing as guests of the
Hollingsworth Family."
