The website of the church (
visit link) reads:
"Pastor, G. Rentinck, loved quality. He decided in 1932 to replace the dilapidated water church with a new one. In his search for an architect, he ended up with H.W. Valk (1886-1972) from 's-Hertogenbosch.
Valk designed the new church in Neo-Romanesque style, inspired by old abbey churches in southern France. The cruciform church has two towers, a high crossing tower and a lower bell tower above the entrance portal. Characteristic are the tent and gable roofs installed at varying heights. The interior of the church, including the vaults, is done in clean masonry . The building was given a prominent place in the center of the village at the intersection of the two main roads.
The stained glass windows are by the artist Charles Eyck and were executed in the studio of Joep Nicolaas. Characteristic are the persons shaped in grisailles. Charles Eyck, a versatile artist, later also made the Stations of the Cross.
The most important church ornaments were made after the Second World War in the studios of Ad van Roosendaal and Jan and Eloy Brom. Many parishioners donated money and ornaments for this purpose.
The church is of value because of its architecture and its numerous special church ornaments. The building is rightfully on the list of National Monuments."
