"The Government is the seat of the Provincial Council of Limburg, the Provincial Executive of Limburg and the King's Commissioner in Limburg. Limburg is the only province in the Netherlands where the latter unofficially becomes the seat of governor and the building where it serves as government; a legacy from the time of the military governors of Maastricht."
