I 1934 udgravede konservator Gustav Rosenberg igen højen.

English: Hesthøj burial ground is a Neolithic passagegrave built in the Neolithic period around 3000 BC. The burial chamber consists of 22 supporting stones and 8 cover stones above the chamber. The burial chamber has been examined twice. In the 1880s by locals and the Nationalmussets Gustav Rosenberg in 1934.

When the farmers excavated Hestehøj - which is also called Esterhøj - they found the bones of about 10 people in the burial chamber. In addition, they found pottery and flint tools. In 1934, curator Rosenberg again excavated the mound. It was assumed that the chamber was about three meters long, but it turned out that the supporting stone at the southwestern end was a tapered cover that covered an affected burial layer. Rosenberg found here pottery shards, axes, amber beads, cracks and other Stone Age tools laid in the grave as sacrifices to the spirits of the ancestors.

There is access to the passage grave along the footpath all year round.
