[GER] Der Brunnen wurde im Jahr 1970 vom Magdeburger Bildhauer Heinrich Apel geschaffen. Der Brunnen erinnert an die in Magdeburg spielende Episode der Eulenspiegelsage.
Das Becken des Brunnens ist außen mit Blumenmotiven verziert. In der Mitte befindet sich ein Rundpfeiler, an dem sich wasserspeiende Bürgerköpfe befinden. Bekrönt wird der Pfeiler von der Figur des Till Eulenspiegels. Der lachende Eulenspiegel blickt in gebückter Haltung in die Richtung des Rathauses. Der Pfeiler ist mit der goldenen Inschrift HIC FVIT versehen.
[ENG] The fountain was created in 1970 by the Magdeburg sculptor Heinrich Apel. The fountain is reminiscent of the episode of the Eulenspiegel legend set in Magdeburg.
The outside of the fountain's basin is decorated with floral motifs. In the middle there is a round pillar on which there are water-spouting citizens' heads. The pillar is crowned by the figure of Till Eulenspiegel. The laughing Eulenspiegel looks in the direction of the town hall in a stooped position. The pillar bears the golden inscription HIC FVIT.
