The voluntary fire brigade Barchem consists of 14 men and women who do this work in addition to their own profession. The fire station is located at van Damstraat 20 in Barchem. This is also where all the equipment is set up. According to the standard, the firefighters must be on their way in the vehicles to the fire within 8 minutes. The main vehicle is a Mercedes tanker sprayer. There is also a crew car and other equipment. The fire brigade is also deployed in major traffic accidents and other disasters. If necessary, help is also provided with fires in the area. There is often practice and the firefighters are also expected to follow many courses.
