CHASE CENTER, RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN
Providence, USA
2000-2008
Similarly to the LISE, the Chase Center must be perceived as part of the urban fabric rather than as a building. It connects Benefit Street with Main Street and offers a new access to the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, as well as new classrooms and studios. On close examination of the sections, the building’s complexity becomes evident – this, despite its modest scale.
