eng: "Luis Navia Osorio assures that the so-called Casa de la Marquesa was the land of the Cañedo family, later Luaces Cañedo, from whom it was acquired in 1952 by the Marqués de Santa Cruz de Marcenado, whose ancestry had to be the first owner of this unique house nobiliary of the 17th century, which shows on its south facade the arms of the houses related to the holders, the aforementioned Marquis of Santa Cruz de Marcenado and Vizcondes de Puerto (both titles located in Siero): Navia (the dragants hold a bar, not the usual band); Lantoira (castle with three towers and supported lance), Cuervo (six crows); Montenegro (crowned capital M) and Avilés (two galleons from Admiral Ramón Bonifaz's navy that break the chains that prevented access by river to Seville). On the north façade, which overlooks the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, a powerful shield, framed by a delicate alfiz, shows the ostentatious and usual weapons of Villamil, consisting of the warrior with a sword on his belt and a halberd. At present, it is owned by the Suárez Fernández family, a native of Navia and resident in the Republic of Mexico. The annexed building, of great structural harmony, shows an excellent semicircular façade resolved in fine carved stonework and, also on the ground floor, two masonry windows with delicate carpal arches.
