The plaque on the town hall of the historian Servando Fernández says: "CITY COUNCIL OF NAVIA Building-cubic block, built in the first half of the seventeenth century by a branch of the lineage of the Fuertes de Sierra and Pambley, with a solar house in Cangas de Tineo (today, Cangas del Narcea), pre-established in the council by marriage of the cangués Álvaro Pérez Fuertes de Cangas with Maria González de Anleo, who established their residence in Andés and founded the noble House of Andés for their son and successor. The inscription on the clock is misleading, as the date of 1885 appears, which is when the building becomes the official residence of the municipal government. On its main facade, which has shaken off the suffocating pressure of the surrounding buildings that prevented admiring its beautiful workmanship, it shines in the central street, above the spectacular flown balcony and below the clock tower, slightly eccentric with respect to the central axis of the building, the coat of arms of the Fuertes de Sierra, framed by two rampant lions that pretend to justify the power River of the houses related to the possessor family, with representation of the coats of arms of Avello, Fuertes, Sierra de Llano and Navia. The two side streets, of perfect symmetry, are adorned with three aligned windows. The old building maintains its administrative character, since it houses the central offices of the municipal services, while the annexed Casa del Limonar houses the offices and assembly hall, oriented to political activity.
