The park has an elevated boardwalk through a hardwood hammock, where visitors may encounter Gray-cheeked Thrush, White-eyed Vireo, Northern Parula, Yellow-throated Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler and Indigo Bunting. Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Gray Catbird, Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Orange-crowned Warbler spend the winter here. Check the small wetland, which may have Blue-winged Teal, Wood Stork, Tricolored Heron, Osprey and Sandhill Crane. There are many informative placards along the way.
