15th century font in the Perpendicular style in All Saints' church, East Budleigh.
The church is 13th century in origin, now all 15th century since the rebuild by Bishop Lacy (1420-55). The font is contemporary with the Bishop Lacy rebuild. It is carved from Beerstone, with an octagonal bowl, each face with a sunken quatrefoil panel with a floriated centre. There is a band of carved foliage around the base and the stem has a blind cinquefoil-headed arcade around it, all over a moulded base. It stands on a modern 20th century 2-step plinth.
