This Tiger was from the SS Panzer Abteilung 501- Kampfgruppe Peiper which defended the Werimont farm in the village of La Gleize.
On December 21, 1944, the 3rd US Armored Division attacked the village and violently hit the 8.8cm gun of the Tiger which became inoperative.
The Commander of the Dollinger tank is shot in the head. The crew abandons the Tiger on the spot.

After the war, the Americans took all the abandoned military equipment to the steelworks in Liège. In July 1945, as the Tigre 213 passed through La Gleize, Madame Jenny Geenen-Dewez, wife of the local innkeeper, convinced the Americans to unload it, the price: a bottle of Cognac.

Ce Tigre etait de la SS Panzer Abteilung 501- Kampfgruppe Peiper qui defendait la ferme Werimont dans le village de La Gleize.
Le 21 decembre 1944, la 3e Division Blindee US attaque le village et touche violement le canon de 8.8cm du Tigre qui devient inoperant.
Le Commandant du char Dollinger est touché a la tete. L'équipage abandonne le Tigre sur place.

Après la guerre, les Américains ont emmené vers les aciéries de Liège tout le matériel militaire abandonné. En Juillet 1945, alors que le Tigre 213 passe dans La Gleize, Madame Jenny Geenen-Dewez, épouse de l'aubergiste du coin, réussit à convaincre les Américains de le décharger, le prix: une bouteille de Cognac.
