The plaque says, "Boats leaving Lock 11 continued just a few hundred feet downstream to Lock 10. A concrete dam replaced Lock 10 in 1964 as part of a highway construction project that straightens Main Street. Today, the canal water flows under the roadway through a culvert pipe. Remnants of Locks 9 and 8 still exist beyond the dam. From Lock 8, the Delaware Canal runs another 24 miles south to Bristol."
